The Almenara Golf Club in Sotogrande has a 27-hole course that is like a true natural park, created by the famous British designer, Davie Thomas. He has created a challenge for the best golfer, with undulating fairways and deep bunkers. Almenara is a noble course, which must be played intelligently and precisely. The course stands out for its generous proliferation of water and presents its three courses in a very different way. It is surrounded by extensive vegetation of pine and cork oak trees and by lakes that have been masterfully integrated as part of the course by Mr. Thomas. The first part, Los Pinos, runs next to the characteristic wooded area of Sotogrande, the second, Los Alcornoques, flows through a more open area in which a spectacular lake stands out, and the third, Los Lagos, apart from presenting some of the most impressive tees in Europe, also runs around a series of large lakes.
